Betting Exchange
In a regular sportsbook you bet against the bookmaker. In a betting exchange you bet against other players — much like a stock market.
Back vs Lay
| Back (Support) | Lay (Oppose) |
|---|---|
| You think the outcome will happen | You think the outcome will not happen |
| Example: Bangladesh will win | Example: Bangladesh will not win |
| You get a profit if it wins | You pay the liability if the opposing side wins |
Example: You placed a ৳500 Back bet. Another player took the ৳500 Lay. The exchange deducts a small commission from each winning bet — the exact amount is shown upfront.
In a regular sportsbook the bookmaker sets the odds. In an exchange the odds are formed by the demand and supply of players — so market prices are often more competitive.
RTP and House Edge Explained
Having a basic understanding of RTP and house edge before playing at an online casino makes it easier to make smart decisions.
What is RTP (Return to Player)?
RTP is the theoretical percentage of total wagers that a game returns to players over the long run. If a game's RTP is 96%, it means an average of ৳96 comes back for every ৳100 wagered. This is an average across billions of spins — there is no guarantee of receiving exactly that amount in a single session.
RTP ranges across different game types
RTP varies by game type. Generally:
- Slots: typically within the 92%–98% range
- Blackjack: can reach close to 99% with correct strategy
- Roulette: typically in the 94%–97% range for the European version
- Live Baccarat: generally has a high RTP
What is House Edge?
House edge is the flip side of RTP. Subtract the RTP from 100% and you get the house edge. For example, a 96% RTP means a 4% house edge. That 4% is the casino's source of long-term profit.
Why does this matter?
Understanding RTP and house edge helps you set your budget wisely and keeps you away from unrealistic expectations. A higher RTP game does not guarantee wins, but over the long run it gives your money a slightly better chance of lasting longer.
Keep in mind
RTP is a statistical average — it does not determine the outcome of a single session. Every spin or hand is completely independent.
Gambling Myths and Truths
There are many widely held beliefs that are simply not true. Find out which ones are myths and which are reality.
"If a slot hasn't paid out for a long time, it must be due to pay now."
TruthEvery spin is controlled by an RNG (Random Number Generator) and is completely independent of previous results. There is no such thing as being "due to pay."
"Placing a bigger bet can recover previous losses."
TruthIncreasing your bets to recover losses is a risky behaviour. Each bet is independent — the next one does not make up for the losses of the previous one.
"Following the right betting system guarantees profit."
TruthNo betting system can eliminate the house edge. Neither the Martingale nor any other method guarantees profit over the long run.
"Hot or cold streaks help predict the next outcome."
TruthIf a team has won five matches in a row, that does not mean they are more likely to win the sixth. Statistical independence means every event is separate.
"Online casino games are rigged or manipulated."
TruthGames from reputable providers are tested by third-party auditors. RNG certification ensures the results are genuinely random.
"You can withdraw a bonus right after receiving it."
TruthWagering requirements apply to welcome bonuses. On tqbet, bonus winnings can be withdrawn only after completing 20 times the bonus amount in bets.
